A guy in work has sort of started fly fishing. He usually goes up to Shaw's Bridge with his son and would fish for anything, trout or coarse (has had a few roach of late). I said I would tie him up a few flies for it. trouble is I've never really fished the rivers so don't know what to tie up. I said I'd do a couple of GRHEs but I think he wants dries as well. does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could tie (and patterns if possible)?
Cheers,
Gary
