i just thought i would mention this.

if anyone is considering coarse fishing around lough neagh for the big bream that are present in the lough, now is probably not a great time, i was down last week on the moyola and took a wee run down to the mouth to see if wee could see any salmon or dollaghan moving up the river, we seen a few salmon but i was not interested in fishing as soon as we arrived, i could see 2 very large bream lying dead beside the bird watching hide, i immediatly thought poachers who kill everything they catch but never eat, i didnt even bother to set up a rod, i must have walked for over 1 mile along the shore and seen well over 100 dead bream in varying stages of decomposition, i only seen 1 other dead fish that was an eel that was well over 4lb, i assume the bream where older specimins that did not survive the rigors of spawning season, i dont think anything sinister has been going on as all the fish where of the same species.

i have informed the relevant body as to the scale of the fish kill.

just wait until september to fish lough neagh, i think the lough will break the irish or maybe the british record in the next few years, i seen fish in the region of 15 to 20lb lying dead, i think the british record is 19 or something.
