Lough Melvin

I heard tonight that the Northern Ireland side of Lough Melvin is closed untill further notice, is there any truth in this?

Who governs it? Is it FCB/DCAL? If so there may be something on the website - I'll have a wee look.

I couldn't find anything out about it being closed, however I did discover that Charlie Chaplin used to fish there and would stay in Garrison when visiting. That doesn't help much though. Sorry. Very Happy

Its closed until further notice on the Northern side. Angling club and trustees are renegotiating the lease.

Wonder how long this will take?

Going by negotiations on other waterways in the past it could take some time.
