Results of MS fly fishing Classic weekend.30 anglers fished the 2 Heats of The MS classic on saturday 26/04/08 at Danescast with 10 anglers from each heat qualifying for the final on Sunday the 27/04/08.
All the anglers were presented with goody bags sponsered by Gems, Whittens and Savage and Game-fisher.co.uk
A total of 207 trout were caught over the 2 four hour heats, 101 in the morning heat and 106 in the afternoon heat, even though conditions were not ideal with the bright sunshine.
At the end of each heat all the anglers enjoyed refreshments with non qualifiers being presented with momento,s of the day
Again in very bright conditions on Sunday the fishing got of to a flyer with the first fish landed within 20 sec of the hooter by S Sands. Fish came steady to most anglers with bloodworms, buzzers and mini lures being the most consistent patterns.
In total 117 trout were caught for the 6 hours of the final.
Top angler in the final was Sean Armstrong with 15 fish which earned him a Hardy Demon Rod sponsered by HARDY
All 20 anglers in the final recieved a prize.

Janet Williamson Chairperson of the MS society thanked John And Margaret O,Hare of Danescast fishery for their support and a very sucessfull and enjoyable weekend and then continued to thank all of those who sponserd and helped in anyway to make it a memorable weekend.

Well done to every1 who took part in this event for a very worth while cause. How much was raised for MSS from this event as I know that it will go to help those who suffer from MS to live life to the full.

After a very sucessful and enjoyable weekend.
A total of £1100 was raised for the Newry and Mourne MS branch.
Hopefully we may run this on a yearly basis due to the reponse from all the anglers involved.
