hiya guys..
I'm have'n trouble getting the materials for making wings on evicta's and butchers etc,is there something a bit more common that could be used as a substitute.Went to a couple of tackle shops but no joy.

Have you tried any online stores. Butcher Blues shouldn't be too difficult to get a hold of.

For your butchers use Jay wing secondry ,as really the fish dont mind and is a lot easier to tie in, but if you need, suss out a flouro blue dye to catch the eye. The hen pheasant is a pain in the arse, even to get an even match, use a bit of the tail feather instead or a light deer hair.There is plenty of usable feathers on the pheasent wing to use , with a bit of flue glu or the likes and are good for the green peter's.

Took beatnik69's advice and ordered a few things online(1st time).Could of bought the flies for as little as 25p each but as i say it takes the fun out of it.I'll try and post a pic or two of the monsters i create Laughing

I've ordered stuff online a few times for tying. I never really buy flies unless I'm at a fishery and they have some on sale which are doing well.
