Hook length

This is simple any one can do Ok what you will need is
Hook I use 4/0 but you can go bigger
Some amnesia I use 25lb again you can go for stronger line if you need to
A Muppet I use 4-5 inch ones
A bead I use 5mm or luminous
Some rig tubing to use as a stopper

Tie your hook on I use a size 4/0 brass mustad the knot I use is the grinner knot it’s like a hangman’s knot same sort of thing the harder you pull the tighter the knot gets use this on all my hook lengths. From the knot or eye of the hook measure out 30 itches and cut put your Muppet on then your bead then cut about 3-4mm of rig tubing pass the line throw it and then do it again this is just the same thing as a stop knot you would make out of power gum only a lot easier and that’s your hook length made up.

Rig body

Again this is simple what you will need is
A breakaway impact shield
A crimp
A lead link
A spool of 60lb shock leader
3 beads
2 swivels

tie you lead link on to your shock leader using a normal blood knot measure out 40 itches of shock leader and cut now put on the black rubber that comes with your impact shield then the impact shield its self  pull it down to the lead link and attach the black rubber to the impact shield one 5mm bead a crimp to be placed at the top of the impact shield now put one 5mm bead then I swivel then another 5mm bead and tie the a swivel at the end tie your hook length on to the swivel and that’s you done one ray pulley rig ready to go

baged taged and reddy to fish

Nice one Merv and welcome back, hope the move went well.
What are these rigs used for? and when is the ideal time to use them?

I use them when fishing for rays the Muppet’s stop the line getting week as rays have very abrasive mouths and can make the line week after you have caught 2 or 3 and it acts ad an attracter at the same time that last report has rays in it.
