1) is a watch lead the way it works is when its in the water it kind of sticks in the sand a wee bit but when you turn your reel 2 or 3 times it will create a cloud of dust/sand used mostley used when fishing for flat fish as they are curious or noisey fish they will come over to see what is caseing the cloud mostley this one you would use for beach fishing
2) a plain lead used for sea fishing every were what more can i say you can cover lots of ground with this on a beach as it will roll about with the tide this is the one you would use for rock and beach fishing
3) a griper lead used for holding bottem when on the sea bed reel in a couple of turns till the line is tight and the griper isnt moveing and when you want to reel in wind the rod down then lift like you would when strikeing a fish and the steel gripers will disengage when there extra presher on them this is called breaking the lead fish will some times break the griper and come towards you mostley beach fishing can be used at some rock marks
there are lots more types of leads out there but the 3 i have done are the most used in beach and rock fishing
